Craig Blomberg on Commentary on the NT Use of the OT

Ben Wright (at PaleoEvangelical) posted a note from a friend regarding the contents of Beale & Carson's Commentary on the New Testament Use of the Old Testament which sparked a very helpful conversation between a handful of bloggers. In the midst of the conversation Dr Craig Blomberg, a contributor to this commentary, entered the discussion to correct an errant conclusion about the materials used to compile this volume. If you're considering purchasing this volume, please read this post, ESPECIALLY THE "PONTIFICATIONS" (ie. comments).

I'm so glad that more and more prof's and scholars are checking the internet and entering conversations like this.

    Thank you for your work. I've profited much from the ones I've had the opportunity to use. Just recently I pulled out my copy of Interpreting the Parables and was greatly helped.

    I'd also ought to plug your contribution to the series New Studies in Biblical Theology -- Neither Poverty nor Riches: A Biblical Theology of Possessions. I used this recently as I was studying theme of the poor and rich in the Psalter and found your chapter on "The Old Testament wisdom and prophetic literature" to be of help.
